Looking In

Turkish Shop
St Helena, California
I don\’t shop anymore except for books, personal care items and clothes and shoes if I absolutely have to.  Everything is carried by hand or on my back in a large green backpack.
I do love to window shop. This afternoon, in Napa, in a town called St. Helena I was on a search for color and light.
I found it in the Christmas Ornaments, the masks people wore as they walked and shopped the downtown, and in shop windows.
It used to be difficult for me to shop without spending money and acquiring things. I\’m over it now. I can appreciate beauty without having to possess it. A photo, my words, the experience, and the memory of it sustains me.
Horses and dogs, that is another matter. I have to stay away from horses and dogs.
I tend to collect them.
